My "Particular" Collaboration Policy
I would like to share a personal parable with you in regards to future collaborators. My dad shared this humorous story with me about an incident that happened to him when he was a boy. The house where my father grew up had a big pond in the backyard. He and his buddies decided to get a bicycle, make a big ramp, and race down a slope, hit the ramp and fly into the pond. Sounds like a pretty exhilarating adventure! The first kid that had the courage to give it a go was good, he really flew, and splash!… He landed well into the pond. He came up out of the water slowly… but then yelled with enthusiasm, "WOW! That was great!" My father was next… the same approach, launch and impact. Except now my dad told me, "it hurt like hell, I flew into the handle bars… only by a miracle I didn't lose a few teeth!" But when he saw the look on his buddy's face, the kid who went before him, he understood… "WOW! That was great!" was his response. And so, down the line they went until all the "suckers" had the thrill of a few extra bruises. How in the heck does this story relate to collaborators? Well, if you have an article, product, service, forum, or link that you want me to promote on this site, if it is good quality, only then will I yell, "WOW! This is great!" I am interested in quality, not in promoting the "sucker" line just to gain a lesser benefit like linking. So, if you have a language or translation oriented site and you think like I do and want quality, and do your best to give it, then send me your proposal. I'd be happy to examine it, and potentially share a link.
